On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions: the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire, and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that Robert left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit?

Crew
DAVE SCHMIDT (Director) has directed for ICT MainStage the productions of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, NUNSENSE, THE UNVARNISHED TRUTH and I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT. He most recently performed onstage for ICT MainStage in THE UNEXPECTED GUEST as Henry Angell. Other onstage performances for ICT MainStage include Waldo Lydecker/LAURA, Sir Laurence Wargrave/TEN LITTLE INDIANS, Felix Unger/THE ODD COUPLE, Dale Harding/ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST, Curtis Appleby/NIGHT WATCH, Julian Goodman/COMMUNICATING DOORS, and R.F. Simpson/SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN.
PAUL FIORELLA (Set Designer) This play places the emphasis on the script first and visual elements second. To support this intent, Paul has created a set design which suggests realism in a minimalistic style. Actors are placed close to the audience so that we can focus on the dialogue while set details remain a backdrop to this purpose. Paul received his Masters degree in Theatre Design from Florida State University.
SAM NANCE (Lighting Designer) is designing the lighting for all of the shows this season at ICT. He is the resident lighting designer for Pegasus Theatre where he has lit their innovative “living black and white” shows for a number of years as well as their more colorful presentations. Other companies that have seen his lighting include the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, Dallas Theater Center, and the Lois Pope Theater in Florida. Shows include WOODY GUTHRIE’S AMERICAN SONG, THE LION IN WINTER, CATHOLIC SCHOOL GIRLS, and A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM.
BARBARA KIRKSEY (Costume Designer) has previously designed ICT’s productions of LILLIES OF THE FIELD and THE OLDEST LIVING GRADUATE. She studied fashion design at Texas Woman’s University and took a summer course at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Barbara dedicates her work in this production to her son, Daniel, who saw PROOF with her in New York and liked the play too. She thanks the director and cast for a truly enjoyable experience.
RICHARD FROHLICH (Sound Designer) has designed sound for many ICT productions including TEN LITTLE INDIANS, LAURA and THE OLDEST LIVING GRADUATE. He also designed sound for Echo Theatre, Theatre Three, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, Uptown Players and Slappy's Puppet Playhouse. In 2006 he won a Column Award for sound design of THE FULL MONTY. In 2001 he formed the award-winning Texas Radio Theatre Company and has since written and produced over 60 modern audio plays. He makes his home in Arlington, Texas with his wife Shannan and three children.
EVELYN G. HALL (Stage Manager) serves as treasurer on the ICT Board of Directors and was most recently Producer of this season’s UNEXPECTED GUEST. She has produced or stage managed many of ICT’s shows. Some of her favorite shows include THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, TEN LITTLE INDIANS, and SINGIN IN THE RAIN.
JOANNE HULL (Properties/Set Dressing) has designed and gathered props for many ICT shows including PIRATES OF PENZANCE, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN and this season’s DRACULA. Those “just right and hard to find” items are special challenges that allow her to indulge and excuse her attraction to thrift shops, garage sales and antique stores – especially those in the Texas Hill Country!
FERNANDO LARA (Assistant Stage Manager) is working on his fourth show for ICT. Fernando was Stage Manager for THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT and Assistant Stage Manager for DRACULA and SHAKESPEARE FOR THE MODERN MAN-LESSON 1 : MACBETH. Fernando has worked as an Actor, Sound Designer and Stage Manager for TV, Film and Theater for many years.
TORY PADDEN (Producer) has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. PROOF is a new and exciting show for ICT and she is pleased to be a part of the production team. Recent productions on which she has worked are ICT’s PIRATES OF PENZANCE and Northlake College’s A LIE OF THE MIND.
JAMES WEST (Co-producer) has appeared in several ICT shows and serves on ICT's board of directors. This is James' second show to co-produce, and he is pleased to thank all of the volunteers who selflessly donate their time to make shows like PROOF a success.
